Foundation for a Human Internet Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 10, 2022

humanID is a product of the Foundation for a Human Internet, Inc(FHI). You can reach our data protection officer at contact@human-id.org or by post to Foundation for a Human Internet, Attn: Data Privacy Manager, 25 Central Park West, Apt 26, New York, 10023 NY.

What personal information do we collect from users?

For verification purposes only, we temporarily collect your phone number, and occassionally your email address, and nothing else. Phone numbers and email addresses are deleted from our servers permanently after a maximum of 10 minutes.

What do we do with your personal information?

We never store personal information beyond the signup process. As soon as phone number or email verification is completed, your data is irreversibly deleted from FHI’s server and replaced with a non-reversible hash.

We never share your personal information with the platforms you log in using the humanID service!

Do Not Track

FHI does not collect personally identifiable information from you to track you across third-party websites. As a result, humanID does not specifically respond to web browser Do Not Track signals, as we simply do not track by default.

Who do we share your personal information with?

For the purpose of sending you a verification SMS or email only, we send your information to third party SMS services, such as Nexmo or Mailgun Technologies. Sharing happens entirely isolated from the humanID hashing process – the third-party service provider cannot infer your humanID or what services you are logging into, and receives no other information. We never share your personal information with the platforms you log in using humanID!

Email

If you email our customer support, we may keep the content of your message, your email address, and your contact information to respond to the request and otherwise follow up as necessary.
